Project Dyson - I test fitted the electronics and everything seems to work/fit correctly. The arduino pro mini fits nicely in to the handle with all the wires squished in. The ESC + voltage/current sensor will be fit into the hollowed out battery housing. I will use velcro straps
Jessica O’Brien (http://jessica-obrien.com) did it again! This time a Maker mod to my avatar.
Dyson DC16 overhaul
We used to use our Dyson DC16 all the time, but after it chewed through 2 batteries to the point you couldn’t get anything more than 15 seconds of continuous use from it, we decided it was too frustrating to use. It has sat in
Yesterday I received my black friday specials from 3DRobotics. I now have everything assembled with the new goodies and its looking good!
This includes the APM2.5 case, i had to mod this to allow for the extra headers I installed for UART access, and so that I could continue
More tweaks to the QAV500 platform. I moved all the electronics up to the front, this allows me to stick a battery on the top if need be. After my ESC timing changes I had an excellent flight today.
PIDs are 2.8.1 defaults with motor size medium (0.
In a leap of education, last night I read quite a few different articles about ESC timing and motor sizing. I couldn’t have been more wrong about my initial thoughts of what that parameter actually did!
I was thinking that the timing setting was related to PPM, but
Cleaned up my QAV500 quadcopter during lunch today.
Due to the size of the ESCs I am using (40a 6s capable), they do not fit in the intended space, and Initially I had them between the dirty (where the motors are) and clean (noise isolated for camera/controllers) platforms. However,
Multi-rotor work again!
Over the next few weeks (during lunch breaks), I will be working on re-building the hexa. I will be fully integrating the wiring in to the arms, soldering ALL connections.
This is a photo of an ESC with new wiring soldered to it.
Jeremie hooked me up with Eric Jennings, Co-Founder of the pinocc.io project. Pinoccio is a wireless hardware development platform targeting “makers” with an arduino style wireless mesh platform. Utilizing IEEE 802.15.4 (which is the basis of Zigbee etc) they aim to create a self managing
