New and MUCH improved steering assembly. The linear actuator is driving the left hub directly with the drag link (original control bar) to the right hub.
My new linear actuator for steering arrived today. Max is busy fashioning the new steering assembly that we discussed over lunch.

Last night I installed the cooling fans for the motors. It may seem overkill, but a cooler running motor will last longer. Today the new ESCs will be arriving, and Ill get those installed over my lunch break.

Max and I have started on the major components required for driving the vehicle. We will be mounting a potentiometer inside the steering wheel assembly, the APM board will use the resistance of the pot to determine the steering position, and control the steering servo appropriately.
The IR distance sensor
